You don’t become a doula because you want another hobby LOL — you do it because your soul feels called to this work. But the sad reality is that most doula trainings leave women with a certificate in hand, still wondering, “Am I really cut out for this?”
Our Doula Training Program is different. We cover what others skip: supporting families through loss, trauma, postpartum, and all the unpredictable twists birth can take. By the end, you won’t just be certified — you’ll be the doula who actually knows what to do when birth gets real.
This isn’t about memorizing a few comfort measures and calling it a day. This is about mastering birth physiology, building real-world skills, and becoming the kind of doula who walks into any birth with confidence.

Our curriculum was built to go deeper, covering the skills and knowledge you actually need to walk into any birth confident, prepared, and respected. From mastering yourself, to understanding the maternity system, to learning how to support families through trauma, loss, and postpartum — this program gives you everything in one place!
This isn’t “watch a couple of videos, write a reflection, call it a day” kind of training. Our curriculum is packed with the stuff doulas actually need but rarely get taught.

Module One: Self Mastery
Before you can hold space for someone else, you need to know yourself. This module helps you uncover your own biases, shift out of drama, and step into conscious leadership. You’ll learn real tools for self-care, boundaries, and emotional resilience so you can show up grounded, confident, and ready for whatever a birth throws at you.
Module Two: The Current State of Maternity Care
You can’t be an effective doula without understanding the system families are birthing in. This module peels back the curtain on obstetric myths, “high-risk” labels, and how laws impact birth choices. You’ll learn to think critically, question the medical paradigm, and support clients in making informed decisions even when the status quo says otherwise.
Module Three: Birth Physiology
This is where you learn the science and the soul of birth. From pelvic dynamics to labor progression, from hormonal blueprints to the psyche’s role in birth — you’ll finally understand how it all works together. This knowledge sets you apart as a doula who can confidently explain birth physiology and help clients trust the process.
Module Four: Options and Interventions
Families can’t make informed decisions if they don’t understand the interventions being offered! This module covers inductions, fetal monitoring, cesareans, and pain relief options — medical and non-medical! You’ll learn how to explain risks, benefits, and alternatives, so your clients feel empowered instead of pressured when interventions are suggested.
Module Five: The Magical Fourth Trimester
Birth doesn’t end when the baby arrives. This module covers breastfeeding basics, newborn care, safe sleep, and the emotional realities of postpartum. You’ll learn how to support the dyad (mother and baby together) during those critical early weeks, making you the kind of doula families rave about long after the birth!
Module Six: Supporting Birth
This is the heart of your role as a doula. You’ll learn how to structure prenatal appointments, build birth plans, and support families across every birth setting: hospital, birth center, home, free birth, VBAC, water birth, cesarean — you name it! From comfort measures to partner support, you’ll finish this module feeling ready to walk into any birth and actually know what to do.
Module Seven: Supporting Unexpected Situations
Birth is unpredictable, and this module teaches you how to stay calm and supportive when plans change. You’ll learn what to do during transfers, precipitous labors, or when things get urgent. Instead of panicking, you’ll be the steady presence families can count on when it matters most.
Module Eight: Supporting Loss
This is the training most programs avoid — but it’s essential! You’ll learn how to hold space through miscarriage, stillbirth, and pregnancy loss with compassion and skill. By the end, you’ll be equipped to support families through some of the hardest moments of their lives, and that makes you an invaluable doula.
Module Nine: Supporting Postpartum
Postpartum is often where families need doulas the most. This module shows you how to structure postpartum visits, create support plans, and navigate challenges like NICU stays and breastfeeding. You’ll leave knowing how to serve beyond birth, offering the kind of care that keeps clients coming back and referring you again and again.
Module Ten: Trauma-Informed Care
Birth trauma is real, and doulas need to know how to respond. This module equips you to recognize trauma, support survivors, and facilitate debriefs in a safe, effective way. You’ll also learn how to navigate sensitive situations like obstetric violence and sexual abuse, so every client feels seen, respected, and cared for.
Module Eleven: Alternative Medicine
This module rounds out your skills with holistic tools many families are looking for. You’ll explore homeopathy, herbs, essential oils, acupressure, and osteopathy, learning safe ways to integrate them into your support. These tools make you a versatile doula who can offer more options and meet families where they are.
And because we don’t just hand you theory and call it a day… you’ll have homework that ACTUALLY matters, like exploring the legal infrastructure of birth, understanding your trauma and biases, and practicing holding space for real scenarios.

Hey! I’m Kyleigh Banks — doula, entrepreneur, and the founder of Birthworker.com.
I started out as a doula in South Florida, and like so many new birth workers, I quickly realized my original training hadn’t prepared me for real-life birth work. It skimmed the surface, skipped the hard stuff (loss, trauma, postpartum realities), and left me piecing things together from continuing ed courses and trial by fire. Honestly? It was frustrating. Families deserve better, and so do doulas.
In 2022, I went all in on fixing that problem. Over the years, I’ve trained more than 2,000 doulas — and I built this program to fill every single gap I wish had been covered when I started.
I’m obsessed with autonomous birth, but I’m also a straight-talking business mentor. I know what it takes to succeed in this field — not just in the birth room, but as a professional building a career that lasts.
That’s why I created this training. My goal is simple: you shouldn’t have to buy 12 different continuing education courses just to feel competent. You deserve a single program that covers it all — birth, trauma, loss, postpartum, the whole spectrum.

Will I be certified after this?
Yes! You’ll graduate with a full-spectrum doula certification. But here’s the thing — it’s not from DONA, CAPPA, or any of the big-box organizations (and that’s a good thing).
Our certification is different. We don’t send you off chasing births before you’re ready. Instead, you’ll do meaningful assignments — like researching the legal landscape of birth where you live, or exploring your own trauma and biases so you can show up stronger for your clients. Yes, there’s homework. No, it’s not busywork. It’s the kind that actually makes you a better doula.
In terms of timing, this program is over 100+ hours of training. We’ve had some go-getters finish in as little as 3 weeks, but that’s not realistic for most people. A solid goal is around 12 weeks, and the majority of students are certified within 6 months. You’ll have lifetime access, so you can go at your own pace — but we’ve built the structure to keep you moving and help you actually finish.
So yes, you’ll be certified. But more importantly, you’ll be confident, competent, and ready to support real families in real situations. That’s what matters.
